The Two Best Après Skiing Locations in Park City and Deer Valley.
Park City and Deer Valley have a world class après skiing scene with enough to keep you busy for the whole ski season. For those of you here just for a long weekend, we’d like to recommend two locations worth your short amount of time.
High West Distillery – Park City
If you had time for just one Après skiing activity while visiting Park City I would personally suggest the High West Saloon in Park City. High West boasts the world’s only ski-in distillery, set at the bottom of a ski run at the Park City Mountain Resort and it makes après skiing about as easy as it gets. High West has been in Park City for quite some time and has now grown from a small local operation to a lively, yet historic distillery. My personal recommendation for those frequenting High West for the first time would be the West’s 101 flight – with it comes some of their best: American Prairie, Double Rye, Rendezvous Rye, and Campfire. The American Prairie features notes of sweet honey nougat and is pairs perfectly with their Wagyu Sirloin Carne Asada tacos if you are looking for an exceptional evening of food and whiskey. High West Saloon also offers daily tours in their historic saloon as well as comprehensive guided sensory experiences in their new distillery in Wanship. They also have a notable brunch on Sunday mornings, just make sure to make a reservation in advance.
St. Regis Mountain Terrace – Deer Valley
If you are lucky enough to be staying in Deer Valley then you can’t really go wrong anywhere at the St. Regis. If you are looking for a more relaxed après skiing spot, we personally would recommend the Mountain Terrace. Accessible by ski from the deer hollow and navigator runs, it provides a majestic scene unlike anything you have ever seen. If you get there at dusk you will be right on time for the daily champagne sabering. Grab a drink from inside, catch a cozy chair, and relax the evening away by the fire gardens.
Hopefully you’ll get the opportunity to check out both of these places and more. For more specific events check out our other post on the best end of ski season events in Utah or if you end up in downtown Salt Lake City check out a broadway show at the Eccles Theater
